About Dale W. Cox
I've lived in Seattle since 1978. In 1981, I bought my first
house in Ballard for $69,000. The confusion experienced purchasing the home was a
major factor in my decision to become a real estate broker. I have personally bought or
sold a house or small apartment building 16 times and have negotiated hundreds of purchases and sales for a
growing list of satisfied clients.
I came to Seattle as a boat builder, building the charter schooner Mallory Todd, with
dreams of sailing around the world, but quickly discovered on a sailboat race to Hawaii
that I get very seasick; thus, I only sail locally. I soon moved to professionally
building and remodeling houses.
In 1986, a close friend introduced
me to glass blowing and I flourished as a glass artist attending Pilchuck Glass Art School
and working with and for some great Seattle glass blowers and designers, Dale Chihuly,
Dante Marioni, Preston Singletary. Though the draw to be a professional glass artist was
there, I've made it a hobby and in 1987 I began my real estate career after my second real
estate purchase. I was determined to understand this disconcerting process! I figured
getting my real estate license would do the trick.
There are many good and more bad real estate agents out there. I strive to be the best
by bringing over 20 years of house construction knowledge, more than 26 years of buying and selling
homes, 20 years as a licensed agent and 18 years as a real estate broker to bear on your
real estate needs. I have 100's of satisfied clients and have received many real estate
awards including:
1990 top Seattle agent (top listing agent, top selling agent and highest sales volume)
for MacPhersons Real Estate, which at that time had over 500 agents.
Consistently was named top listing and top sales agent from 1988-1995 for my
office (Greenlake MacPhersons).
ReMax President's Club (1996) for outstanding sales achievement.
Real estate broker designation (1989).
I currently work out of my home office and am associated with Coldwell Banker, Danforth & Associates, Inc.
It is a great real estate company and I strive to be one of their top agents.
After many years in North Seattle, I now live in West Seattle with my wife Darcie, who is my invaluable assistant and web designer, and my
daughter Lily. We have recently started a new vacation cottage in West Seattle, for more info see http://www.seattlecottage.com.
