Installing SeaJay Version 4.1
 DAO Version 3.50
|
|
This is
the latest version available and is a total replacement for versions 3.5
and 4.0. It contains corrections for all known problems and the following
new features:
|
|
 Pedigree
Editing A new command in the Edit menu allows an entire four- generation
pedigree to be entered into the Database in one operation. This is useful
for bulk additions of new Lines.
|
|
Dog Deletion A new command in the Functions menu allows the
selected dog to be safely deleted from the Database.
|
|
Stop Button The Toolbar now contains a new button, the Stop Button. This
button is enabled during the highly cpu intensive phases of pedigree and
report generation. If a large reference population is selected, pedigrees
and reports may be inadvertently requested that could take several hours to
run. In this case, clicking the Stop Button will cancel the operation.
|
|
Agility Trial Entries A new command in the Functions Menu supports the
creation of official AKC Agility Trial Entry Forms.
|
|
Earthdog Test Entries A new command in the Functions Menu supports the
creation of official AKC Earthdog Test Entry Forms.
|
|
Siblings Reports New commands in the Reports Menu have been
implemented to display the Selected Dog’s Full and Half-Siblings.
|
|
Cousins Reports A new command in the Reports Menu has been
implemented to display the Selected Dog’s Full Cousins.
|
|
Aunts and Uncles Reports A new command in the Reports Menu has been
implemented to display the Selected Dog’s Aunts and Uncles.
|
|
Print Preview Print Preview is now enabled for all the Show Entry
Commands.
CKC Entry Form
Corrections On
some systems, The Canadian Kennel Club Entry Form does not display
correctly. This has been corrected
in Version 4.1.
Inbreeding Analysis Correction When the selected dog’s dam is
a common ancestor, her Inbreeding Contribution will be displayed as 62.5%
higher than the correct number. This
has been corrected in Version 4.1.
Add/Edit Dog Record Form Expansion On Windows XP Systems, the
entire AKC Id cannot be fully displayed.
This is a result of the larger font used in XP. This and other boxes on the form have
been expanded in Version 4.1 to accommodate this.

Installing SeaJay Version 4.1
SeaJay Version 4.1 is
distributed in a single, self-extracting, ZIP file named SeaJayv41.exe.
This file contains replacements for the SeaJay program, SeaJay.exe and the
Help Files, SeaJay.hlp and SeaJay.cnt.
To
install,
download the file to your SeaJay Folder and run it. This will replace the
three above-named files. Installing Version 4.0 will not affect the SeaJay
Database.

DAO Version 3.50
DAO (Data Access
Objects) is a Microsoft Systems Component required for SeaJay Versions 3.5
and above. Without this component SeaJay cannot access its Database and in some
environments will fail. DAO is not installed as a matter of course on all
systems and may need to be installed separately before SeaJay can be run.
To determine if DAO is installed on your System, examine the contents of
the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Dao Folder. If it does
not contain the file dao350.dll, you will need to install this component.
Installation
DAO Version 3.50
is distributed in a single, self-extracting, ZIP file named DAOv350.exe.
This file contains all the DAO components and the setup programs necessary
to install them.
To install, download
the file to any folder and run it. This will extract the necessary files
and start the installation dialog. Whenever you are given a choice or asked
a question by this dialog, simply click on OK. This will ensure that all
the necessary sub-components will be installed.
